Affordable Counselling in Edinburgh

Some therapists working through Armchair Therapies offer affordable counselling, reduced-fee appointments or lower-cost therapy to help make professional support more accessible.

How Affordable Counselling Works

Every therapist working through Armchair Therapies is an independent practitioner and sets their own fees.

Some therapists choose to reserve a limited number of affordable appointments or offer reduced-fee counselling for particular circumstances, such as students or people on lower incomes. Others may offer a sliding scale.

These lower-cost appointments are offered entirely at the discretion of the individual therapist, so we recommend getting in touch.

Finding the Right Therapist

Cost is only one part of choosing a therapist. Experience, training, therapeutic approach and personal fit are all important considerations. We encourage you to take a little time to read each therapist's profile before making contact.

Frequent Questions

Do reduced-fee appointments affect the quality of therapy?

No. Reduced-fee appointments are offered by the same qualified independent therapists. The fee reflects the therapist's individual pricing policy rather than the quality of support provided.

How do I arrange a reduced-fee appointment?

If you're interested in a therapist's reduced-fee appointments, simply contact them directly using the details on their profile. They'll be happy to explain their current availability and concession arrangements.

Who can access reduced-fee appointments?

Each therapist decides how they offer reduced-fee appointments. Some may offer concessions for students, trainee counsellors or people on lower incomes, while others simply reserve a small number of lower-cost appointments.
