About
I offer psychotherapy to individuals and couples, informed by contemporary understandings of trauma and the body, in service of deeper self-understanding and liberation.
Many of the people I work with are highly capable, thoughtful people who have become used to carrying a great deal. Others experience them as coping well, while privately they feel anxious, burnt out, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain how they arrived at a life that no longer feels like their own.
People often come to therapy because something that once helped them survive no longer helps them live. I don't see myself as the expert on another person's life. My role is to offer a therapeutic relationship in which you can understand yourself more fully, with curiosity rather than judgement, and decide how you wish to be in the world.
My work is rooted in the person-centred tradition and informed by ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing and NARM, alongside my experience as a qualified yoga instructor. Where it feels helpful, I may also draw on body-aware or creative approaches as part of our work together.
I work affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ clients and welcome couples of all configurations, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse couples.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent ten years as an elite athlete. Alongside athletes and former athletes, I have a particular interest in working with high-performers whose relationship with achievement, performance, injury, food, their body or identity has become painful or complicated. I'm especially interested in offering something beyond performance-focused support: a space to explore the human experience of being the person behind the performance.
